Friday Night News

James and Tara came over for a little visit last night.  They were here all of 30 seconds and made the announcement!!!!  Yes, they are engaged!!!  No, they don't have a date yet, but it looks like sometime in the near future we will be hearing the sounds of wedding bells, along with the chicken dance and the YMCA.  Of course, I had to take picture of the newly engaged couple and of the ring. As soon as they have made some plans and set a date, I will let you know!!!

Gammy

On Oct 17,08 Gammy passed out of our lives and into the next. A very sad day for all of us. We will all miss her and her antics. Her questions and comments always kept us on our toes. She had 97 and half years here, and until 2008, she was independent. Anytime we are somewhere where there is cake, I will remember her. She was always first in line, with all the kids, for a piece of cake. This picture was taken in 07 at one of her church gatherings. She loved for all of us to go, she enjoyed showing off her family. We will miss her dearly.

New Look for Mizzou?

oct. 18,08 O.K. so I couldn't pass up this opportunity!!! Carli wanted to be a fairy princess this morning with sparkly shoes. Gus, of course, had to have sparkly shoes also. Notice the MU shirt and the silver shoes. Dave about had a cow. Even funnier, Gus lost one of the shoes and Dave put it back on for him!! I was laughing so hard, I could hardly snap the pictures!!!

Patching with the Cousins!!

Saturday, Oct. 11 was a busy day!! We sent to Crown Center's pumpkin patch with all the Schulte cousins!! Lots of fun!!!! We had hair painted, went to the petting zoo, climbed on the inflatable toys and best of all, we rode the ponies!!! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time running around with our cousins.

THE BOY CAN SING

I can't believe its bee so long since I've posted anything. Time has a way of getting away from me sometimes. oct 11 was the big production of WORKING at Missouri Valley College. We made the big trip to Marshall, as did Mom and Dad, James and Tara, and Pat and Linda. I was blown away by Casey's performance!! Always knew the kid had a great relationship with the stage, but tonight he owned it. Commanding performance as a steeleworker, and the boy has some pipes! I've heard him sing before, but nothing like this. I have a little snippet from the show, camera work isn't great, but I hope you can get the jist of his performance.

Good Times

How many times have you just wanted to sit on your big teddy bear on the kitchen floor and eat a snack? If the kids would have made room for me, I would have been right there with them. The only problem with me sitting down there is that I would see all the dirt I have missed when cleaning...maybe.

At what age does it become "poor table manners" to eat with such relish, that food ends up all over you? Obviously, the kids loved their spaghettios, Gus more than Carli. I was so jealous, watching them truly enjoy their food, and not caring if it gets on their faces( bellies, arms and legs...we love spaghettios!). I think we should make this national no napkin week. Who cares if we like our food so much that we get messy? I suggest everyone get a big bowl of spaghetti, throw away the napkin, and have a great time!!! No, I haven't gone off the deep end, just pondering the little pleasures in life. Better sign off, I think I see some spaghettios that I missed on the mass lunch clean-up!!
